The Origin of Tallack Media Corp.

In my entire adult life, I’ve always worked for small businesses. I enjoyed the freedom and variety of work that I found myself doing at these jobs.

My first real job was as a computer technician for a small computer retailer in Red Deer. Throughout my nine years there I worked several different jobs, from tech, to sales, to management. It wasn’t easy for my to leave that store. I truly felt I helped build it, shape it, like I was a part of it and it was a part of me. Ultimately though I could feel that as the company grew it was no longer the same company I had started with nine years previous. I knew it was time for me to move on.

I then went to work at a hobby shop. There I had many roles again. Sales, marketing, web design, logistics. I helped grow that store and improve their processes. Ultimately though after three years there I found myself moving on again.

This time I ended up at a local IT company. I made great friends and connections there and developed many of the skills that I use today. Again because of the small size of the company I wore many hats but ultimately found my rhythm with project management. I was responsible for leading the technicians and coordinating design and programming projects. I ended up being transferred to what could have then been considered a sister company to handle the day to day operations of the company.

A little over a year ago, I was laid off from that job. I found myself trying to figure out what I wanted to do next with my life. I ultimately ended up starting what has very recently become Tallack Media Corp. In the past year I’ve built web sites and done graphics work for dozens of Alberta businesses. I’ve helped many small businesses to find their brand and their presence on the internet.

Now I’m expanding those options. I’ve brought on a dedicated creative writer with decades of experience as well as a web developer and programmer to extend our web design services. At the same time I’ll be coordinating all the projects to ensure that my clients continue to get the high level of service and quality they’ve come to expect from me.

I’ll still be handling most of the company’s web design but I’m excited to see what the future holds. It’s our mission to work closely with our clients to truly help them grow and improve, just as we are. Thank you to everything who has been along for the ride so far and I look forward to seeing where this takes us all.
